Drive in shelving (also known as through shelving) is a high-density and dense storage shelving, characterized by the elimination of independent access channels. The main body of the shelving is composed of continuous columns, beams, and guide rails, forming a "aisle style" storage space. Forklifts can directly enter the guide rails inside the shelving and store or retrieve goods layer by layer and row by row along the depth direction, maximizing the use of warehouse floor and vertical space. Its key characteristics can be summarized as: 1. Storage logic: Natural "first in, then out", taking the inner goods requires first moving the outer goods, adapting to goods with few varieties, large quantities, and low turnover (such as seasonal stocking and unsold inventory); 2. Space utilization: No independent channel occupation, storage density is more than 50% higher than ordinary crossbeam shelves, suitable for warehouses with limited space and pursuit of ultimate storage capacity; 3. Equipment adaptation: No dedicated forklift is required, ordinary balance weight forklifts can be operated, but the accuracy of the forklift's movement inside the shelf needs to be controlled to avoid collision with the structure; 4. Structural design: It is necessary to strengthen the overall rigidity (such as installing top beams and back pull rods), and the goods should be evenly stacked with the center of gravity to prevent deformation of the shelves caused by one-sided overweight.
